This bug has been present for a while, also in the 3.4 version included in Ubuntu.
Since this is clearly a bug that has been there for a while and it effectively makes LibreOffice unfit for the described usage, I marked it as very high.

Confirmed with LO 3.6 beta 2
Comment 4 Jorendc 2013-02-17 18:40:12 UTC
Can't reproduce anymore using LibreOffice 4.0.0 with Linux Mint 14 x64. Therefore I mark this bug as RESOLVED WORKSFORME (not FIXED, because we don't know which commit fixed this bug).

If this bug reappears or is still present in 4.0.0 or future releases, please feel free to REOPEN.

Kind regards,
Joren

works fine in version 4. was also fixed in some 3.x version I ran in beta, so I think it is fixed in current 3.6.5 too.
Thank you.
