Problem description: Program will not start

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install 3.5.3 rc2 on WinXP. Install goes fine.
2. Click desktop icon.
3. Get this error: "The program cannot be started. A general error occurred while accessing your central configuration."
4. Didn't have this problem on 3.5.3 rc1.

Current behavior: as above. No components start.

Expected behavior: the program and its components should start.

@John:
Did you try to rename your User Profile folder? (See section "Resetting the user profile" on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile )? Please only rename the profile, don't delete it as it might help us to find out what has gone wrong.Thanks.

(Modified Platform according to original description: platform/OS may be very important for issues like this one.)

Did you have any problems with latest stable release?
Comment 4 Joel Madero 2012-09-24 20:12:23 UTC
Marking as NEEDINFO as we're not sure if this is still a problem for you. I am able to install no problem with latest stable.

Reopen as UNCONFIRMED if it's still a problem and provide details about what version you are trying to install. Also please let us know if you've had previous versions of LibO installed, how you removed them, and lastly, try to back up and delete your user configuration.

Thanks for contributing to LibO.

Dear bug reporter,

I am sorry to say so, but we can’t get any progress about this bug without more information. There has been no answer to the questions in comment #1 (and comment #3) for some months now. Therefore we need to close this bug report. Feel free to open it again when you can provide the missing information.

Thank you very much!
