screenshot attached showing Bullets and Numbering error

Problem description: When highlighting several lines of text (in a bulleted, numbered list), there is a toolbar which can popup to format the list. When you press the far right button on the toolbar (Bullets and Numbering) multiple times, multiple format windows will popup.

Steps to reproduce:
1. highlight bulleted/numbered list
2. click on far right icon on bullets/numbering toolbar
3. formatting window pops up

Current behavior: for each button press a formatting window ("Bullets and Numbering") pops up

Expected behavior: only one formatting window should popup

ALSO: this behavior does NOT occur by highlighting text, and using the Format pull-down menu > Bullets and Numbering

Platform (if different from the browser): Windows XP SP3

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.162 Safari/535.19

I just tested this on Ubuntu 12.04, Libre Office 3.5.2.2 and the same bug occurs here as well. Multiple popups while clicking on the formatting toolbar. Only ONE popup when navigating from the pull-down menu Format > Bullets and Numbering. Cheers, Mike.

Ubuntu 12.04 Libre Office 3.5.2.2 bullet number list bug

same error as original bug, but in Linux

I do not reproduce this behavior with LO 3.5.3.2 and the current master (Build ID: 32af02b) under Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64 with gnome-shell.

To clarify I am using Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit, Gnome 3.4.1, and I login with "Ubuntu" not "Ubuntu 2D". (Login with Ubuntu 2D, yields the same error of multiple popups
Comment 5 Mike Lipscomb 2012-05-10 00:26:21 UTC
In regards to my original comment, I downgraded to LO 3.4.6 because 3.5.x kept crashing in Windows XP SP3. Perhaps that is a different bug to chase and not for this bug report of allowing multiple popup windows.

Ubuntu 12.04 Libre Office 3.5.4.2 bug allowing multiple windows to pop up

This bug only seems to work in Writer (not Calc or Presenter)
Comment 7 Mike Lipscomb 2012-08-09 09:51:49 UTC
Sorry, forgot to add using KDE 4.8.4 on Ubuntu 12.04.
Comment 8 Mike Lipscomb 2012-10-02 10:13:17 UTC
I am adding a screencast via Youtube so you can see a video of this bug in action. Only seems to occur on Windows XP SP3 and LibreOffice 3.6.1.2. Youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yziBie9AFu8

Confirmed on 3.7 master 5c02bb0 (7 Oct)
Proposed as EasyHack
Comment 10 leighman 2012-10-10 19:36:02 UTC
This actually happens for all toolbars which allow you to launch a dialog.
'Insert' toolbar is a good one.

In order to limit the confusion between ProposedEasyHack and EasyHack and to make queries much easier we are changing ProposedEasyHack to NeedsDevEval.

Thank you and apologies for the noise
Comment 12 Mike Lipscomb 2014-03-03 08:04:39 UTC
For what it's worth, I was the one who filed the original bug as it applied to WinXP SP3 and LO 3.6.x. This bug no longer appears with LO 4.2.x Writer on WinXP SP3. Just letting everyone know.

Thank you very much for the update.

Due to comment #12, closing as WorksForMe as we do not know what fixed the problem.

Best regards. JBF
