Description Cor Nouws 2012-05-09 04:56:56 UTC
When starting or Opening presentation the focus is not one the slide, but somewhere in the task pane
Thus one is forced to find a mouse to start workin in the slide..

It seems when the TaskPane isn't opened on startup (possible in LO Master) then the focus is correct. If it is opened on startup then it gets the focus.

adding LibreOffice developer list as CC to unresolved EasyHacks for better visibility.

see e.g. http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/minutes-of-ESC-call-td4076214.html for details

I think when libre-office is opened then the focus should be on the leftmost tab(which contain list of the slides)- rather then on the slides or the task-pane beacause that will facilitate easy movement using the keyboard arrow keys.

Right now in my built source code the focus is on the slides (i.e in the middle tab) and using the arrow key is useless as it moves the same slide up and down rather then going to the next slide or previous slide.

I would like to work on this can anyone please direct me .

Thank You.

Isn't this obsolete, because the task pane does no longer exists?

@ANUP: Going to next slide is key PgDown and to previous slide is key PgUp. That is the same as in Draw.

@Regina
Yes It won't matter that much, but won't it be better if the focus was on slides-list rather then the slides when LO-impress opens up.
I see most of the people using LO go on to select the slide list and then use the arrow keys for movement.
Comment 6 Cor Nouws 2014-03-09 20:54:54 UTC
Noticed recently too that now the slide has the focus (and indeed, Pg-Up/Pg-Dwn works, as well as Tab to select frames etc etc.).

So set as Resolved> WorksForMe.

Remove LibreOffice Dev List from CC on EasyHacks
(curtailing excessive email to list)
