Created attachment 61291 [details] dmesg >dmesg.txt file When using video loops as backgrounds in lyricue, playback starts stuttering with the second video displayed and gets worse with every new video. Stutters appear about every second, and get longer with each new video. Once system monitor showed huge memory footprint, but I could not reproduce it. What should I do to give more insight? vmstat had some spikes, but they did not correlate to the jerks. I'm also attaching my dmesg file.
First I need to know how everything is being rendered. Perhaps a perf profile of the system. I suspect it is OpenGL, in which case you will be interested in: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~ickle/linux-2.6/log/?h=fastboot
Looks like lyricue is a clutter-gtk based app using gstreamer (via clutter-gst) for its movie playback; so an OpenGL based renderer.
Can you still reproduce?
