I am running Archlinux, with 3.3.6 kernel, x86_64 pm-utils: 1.4.1 alsa: 1.0.25 sound card: Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 05) The /etc/pm/sleep.d/90alsa script has not been modified. If I hibernate the computer while listening to music (with mplayer in my case), on resume I get very loud static instead of the music. I also get the following resume message: [AO_ALSA] Pcm in suspend mode, trying to resume. [AO_ALSA] alsa-lib: pcm_hw.c:709:(snd_pcm_hw_resume) SNDRV_PCM_IOCTL_RESUME failed (-38): Function not implemented And resume hangs until I kill the player. This is my first time reporting a bug, so don't hesitate to contact me if I forgot to include some information.
Do not know if there is such bug in pm-utils, but vlc and mpv (mplayer fork) work fine after resume, mpv was fixed recently: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/324 https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/commit/4083ae1de37283210d022fb60b6128db276168d4
pm-utils hasn't been touched in eight years, none of this is likely to get addressed. Closing bugs and disabling the bz product.
