git patch for xdg-open

Hi all,

There's a longstanding bug in xdg-utils: xdg-open does not mount shares (ftp/smb) before opening them. This results in annoying error-messages, and malfunctioning browsers.

For example, when a user clicks on a smb:// link in a major browser (Chrome, Firefox), it suggests opening it with xdg-open. After accepting the proposal nothing happens.

I've attached a patch which should solve the problem for ftp and smb shares.
