Description Behdad Esfahbod 2012-06-05 08:07:40 UTC
This is different from subpixel rendering.

Behdad, it looks to me like the subpixel positioning feature is always enabled when the subpixel hinting is enabled in FreeType, and I don't see any related code to turn on/off. do we still want to have this configuration in fontconfig? is it still useful for other rendering engines maybe?

It's not just about FreeType itself. The rendering system (cairo, Skia, etc) also need to understand and implement subpixel rendering...
