Description Alexander 2012-06-17 04:08:28 UTC
Problem description:
I saved document to .doc, and after that it removed pagenumbers.
I made pagenumbering like bottom running-title, and paste there the pagenumber function.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a document in odt with pagenumber in bottom running-title
2. Save o the doc (Word 2003)
3. ....

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:
Correct saving

Could you attach any example documents to allow others to check on different
system/build?

I have seen similar with LO 3.5.5

Generate a .doc with MS Word containing several pages. Do the following in still in MS Word:

Change pagestyle of first page to "First Page" or equivalent "Title Page".

Leave the pagestyle of the other subsequent pages to be "Standard".

Add page header and footer to the "Standard" pages.

Save .doc.

Then open the .doc in LO, change some text and save the .doc.

Then it should loose the header/footer of the "Standard" pagestyle pages.

If header/footer are present on first page, they are preserved. The effect of loosing header/footer is only happening on the pages with pagestyle Standard.

Ok, I just found out how to "heal" a .doc document that is affected by this:

Redo the pagebreaks which occur between those pages with different pagestyles:

Either edit the pagebreak (Mouse over the actual dotted line showing the pagebreak, click on it, click on the black triangle opening the drop down menu, chose "Edit Page Break") or delete them and re-insert them from the "Insert->Manual break" with the proper pagestyle for the subsequent pages...

Checked with:
LO 4.0.0.1
Build ID: own W7 debug build
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

Could not reproduce original report or comment 2 description.
Do not hesitate to comment if this bug is reproducible with the latest stable release. In that case please attach example documents and detailed steps to reproduce.

Seems like there is some confusion as to if this is reproducible - marking as UNCONFIRMED to get fresh eyes on it. Thanks

CONFIRMED -- The pagenumbers are missing.

Visible page numbers :-)
Comment 12 Timur 2015-01-26 14:33:13 UTC
Seems like footer with pagenumbers is now preserved with LO 4.3.5 and 4.4.0.
I suggest this be confirmed and closed as "WorksForMe".
