Trying to change the format of vertical lines, can only select a format once. It does not work a second time. If you select another vertical line and a different format, it will work, but again, only once.
Hello Pinkus, Could you provide more detailed description of what you are doing (how to reproduce it)?
Dear Valek: I shall try to be as detailed as I can. My spreadsheet worksheet was designed when I was using Open Office. It has solid vertical lines dividing columns. Now I want to alter some of the solid lines to either dotted lines or no line at all. I select a column, right click, choose formatting, select borders, select what I require, select the right or left vertical line, click OK. Vertical line is changed. Good. Try to do the same with another column ---- doesn't work. Choose a different new line and it works - also only once. It does not matter what type vertical line you start with, the process will only work once for a given replacement line. Close the program, reopen it and you can change another vertical line, but only once. I hope this has given you the picture of what is going on. This did not occur in Open Office. Please try to fix this. I do not want to reinstall Open Office simplt to format my vertical lines more easily. Aha... I see... Can you try to detach toolbar with borders button and check if you can change borders with it?
Hi, Valek: If by "detach" you mean put the borders button in a separate toolbar, I tried it but it made no difference. If detach means something else, please explain how to do it. Created attachment 64154 [details] Screenshot of the detached panel Pincus, look at the attached screenshot. At the side of the toolbar there is a dotted double line. You can click on it and drag toolbar out. The reason I'm asking is because I have a similar "work once" problem and detaching toolbar seems to be a workaround.
Now I cannot change any vertical line!!!! What happen when you click on the border icon? Can you press and hold for a second?
VALEK, when I pressed and held the borders button, there seemed to be a hesitation, but nothing changed. BUT I CAN TELL YOU the problem is solved!!!!!! TODAY I UPGRADED TO VERSION 3.5.5. What a mess the previous version made of the formatting of the cells. There are extra lines everywhere, including horizontals. Now I have my work cut out fixing the formatting. Thank you for your effort. You can terminate the BUG REPORT. Thank you for your bug-report. I will check 3.5.5 on my system and ask people who filed similar bug to check for them.
