Description Kreitmann 2012-07-06 14:49:02 UTC
Routinely, when using copy/paste in Calc, it hangs. The only way to recover is to kill the process tree and start again, usually losing any unsaved work.
It's driving me crazy!
Thanx

It it any particular document? Also, which platform do you have an issue on?

Thanks for the feedback ! can you provide a simple set of steps from a non-confidential document you can share to reproduce it ?

Failing that - if we could get a stack-trace of where it hangs (attach a debugger) we could presumably fix the bug ~instantly; much of the work here is getting to that trace.

Fridrich how does the win32 symbol server come along ? :-)

hey!
well, i can't really provide any document 'cause they're all work-related.
but it trully happens with any possible openoffice calc document, whenever i copy or paste it hangs up randomly.
how exactly can i provide a debugger?
thanx
louis

Sadly it is ~impossible to debug LibreOffice on windows without Fridrich completing his symbol server work.

If you can reproduce your problem from a blank document; that'd be wonderful. Or perhaps you can reproduce it with a cut-down sheet with =RAND() instead of numbers in it (or something).

Needless to say calc doesn't crash/hang copying/pasting things around normally for me at least; so unless we have clear steps to reproduce it, or a stack trace [ Fridrich ? ] we can't really move here.

can that be any helpful?

This is (at least at the surface) a Calc issue, therefore changed Component accordingly.
Comment 9 Julien Nabet 2013-01-12 07:57:40 UTC
Kreitmann: do you still reproduce this with last LO version (3.6.4)? (and a brand new LO profile, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
