Steps to reproduce: 1. Type something with correct spelling (in English, at least). 2. Put a number in the middle of a word. 3. Watch that be okay. Current behavior: Spell check overlooks numbers placed into words. Expected behavior: Spell check notices that numbers do not generally belong in the middle of a word. Platform (if different from the browser): Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1
Confirmed. Upgraded this to a major bug with high importance.
Works for me (on WinXP 32b) with LibreOffice 3.5.5.3 Build ID: 7122e39-92ed229-498d286-15e43b4-d70da21, text language en-US, en-UK. Please check: Tools > Options > Language Settings > Writing Aids > Options ☑ Check words with numbers [enabled]

Resolving this as NOTABUG. As manj_k pointed out, this is the correct behaviour if 'Check words with numbers' is not ticked. Feel free to reopen if you still think this is a bug.
