The document with the bug. See blank page two.

Hello,

I have noticed that Writer will occasionally insert a random page break after the first page of a document. If I attempt to delete it, it seems to work. But when I save and close the document, then I reopen it, the page break returns. This has happened on two different documents, and each time, I tried numerous times to correct it. But each time I reopened the document, it returns.

The only fix I can find for it is to create a new document, retype the entire first page and then copy and past the rest of the document in. If I try to copy and paste anything from the first page, the page break comes back.

The oddest thing about it is that I can open, edit, save and close the document several times over several days, and it doesn't happen. Then suddenly, the page break appears. I also have other documents that so far have not had this problem. I am saving all of them to DOC format, but not all of them do this.

I have attached the most recent document with this issue. I did manage to get a line on the second page by fidgiting with it (I don't remember how I did it) but the blank space is still there.

Page 2 is not blank but has two lines here.

 Thank you for your response.
Yes, after I played with it a while, I somehow managed to get two lines on the next page. (Again, I don't remember how I did it), but the blank space after that should not be there and is the result of a page break between pages 1 and 2 that I did not add. When I attempt to remove the page break, everything looks normal again. But as soon as I save, close and reopen the file, the break returns. This file should have no page breaks. It's just straight text.

Do you use the file only with LibreOffice or do you use it with Word too?
Comment 4 s245s 2012-07-23 00:40:52 UTC
Only LibreOffice.
