Description Gianluca Greco 2012-07-30 09:51:14 UTC
Problem description:
DISCLAIMER: I'm using the Italian version and I'm not sure how things are named in the English one.

Writer, new document. I'm writing in "text body". I change style upon a word (courier new 10 red) then I press "create a new style from selection". It doesn't work. It creates a new style but it's identical to "text body", without my modification. I change the new style manually. Later I select another word and I press my new style to apply it and... the entire paragraph changes style!

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new document, use text body
2. Modify the style of a word in a phrase
3. Select the word and press "create style from selection"
4. Create manually a new style
5. Select another word and apply the new style. It applies on the whole paragraph

Current behavior:
- No new style on selection
- Apply style on the whole paragraph.

Expected behavior:
- When you select a word and press "create style from selection" it does it.
- When you select a word and press a style only that word changes style.

You have to select character style in Style and Formatting first. Indeed you want a character style not a paragraph style.

Feel free to reopen if my understanding of your problem is wrong.
