Probably it will useful for this bug.

Fix Proposal
1st Replace all the clipart with the Lotus Symphony clipart. I think it's already available on AOOo.

2nd Add some integration with OpenClipart like in Inkscape.

We have quite a capable team of designers ourselves. Also for example openclipart would be way to huge. The number of content in the current default install is just right for a default. It just needs better content.

I guess there's things where their time can have a better use.

I don't mean adding adding clipart from the openclipart, just add an option to import from openclipart like in Inkscape. Try it. Maybe their code can be used as it is c++.

@xpetept: Different issue, doesnt belong here. This is only about replacing the ugly stuff we have.

If you want you work on integrating openclipart your welcome, but it would be a different bug-nr.

OK, I think we should review the license and include some of that. Or include Symphony art (from AOO)

Perhaps setting up a clipart submission "contest", similar to the one that was set up so people could send new master pages?

It would be awesome if the design team could organize itself for that, yes!

"Insert > Horizontal Ruler" is no more... no need to refresh those. But of course still some others to update

I tend to mark this bug as duplicate of Bug 36947 (Replace old cliparts in LibreOffice Gallery with new and beautiful ones).

But I see this is marked as EasyHack ... I didn't do that for now.

@Björn: can we 'merge' this bug with fdo#36947? (making this bug as a duplicate of the other and mark that bug as a Easyhack; or other way around: that (older bug) as a duplicate of this bug?

Kind regards,
Joren

@Jorendc: In theory merging the bugs would work. But in practice, this bug is so nicely scoped (it should be easy to replace/update the existing pictures with something better for a skilled artist -- that doesnt need deep knowledge of LibreOffice) -- while the other bug is far more complex and needs more know-how. Lets you leave them as is?
