By default setting for nvidia drv, Accel on, keyboard, usb-mouse, xserver, and desktop always freeze after 3-30minutes for doing input jobs, e.g. typing something in web browser, scrolling webpages, typing something in gnome-terminal vi(not xvim) etc. But the system can shutdown by push the botton on frontend of chassis, after xorg freeze. When I turn Accel off, by option "Accel" "No", this never happens; but the browse of webpage is dog slow for pageup/pagedown, it is unacceptable for browsing webpage. version: xorg-x11-drv-nv-1.0.1.2-1-i386.rpm (FC5-devel) vedio: riva tnt2 ultra reproducing: startx --> start a terminal -->run alsamixer -->using <Left>/<Right> key turn left or right, freezed.
please try the individual "XaaNo..." options (documented in the xorg.conf manpage) to isolate which XAA path is causing this lockup for you.
Thanks for assist. The following option cause the lockup: Option "XaaNoSolidFillRect"
Can someone from Nvidia comment on this issue? Since there is a known workaround, in the worst case, we could disable the faulty accel primitive in the driver source for this chip, but it would be best to have someone from Nvidia diagnose this and/or provide a real fix if possible. TIA
