Confirmed. This page is very outdated and needs to be rewritten right now, according to Rainer’s found suggestions. (I do not know if this kind of bug report needs to be confirmed at all, but at least that will not hurt ;-)
Supplements: 06. Wann kommt LibreOffice in meine Linux-Distribution? Weit verbreitete Linux-Distributionen, u. a. Debian, Ubuntu, openSUSE und Fedora, sind momentan dabei, LibreOffice für ihre Distribution zu bauen. So gibt es schon z. T. experimentelle Pakete für Gentoo und Debian, aber auch Mageia will im ersten Release LibreOffice integrieren. IIRC this paragraph is extremely outdated; many Linux distributions include LibreOffice already for a long time; please ask some Linux experts for the state of affairs. In addition, “LibreOffice ... zu bauen” is bad wording: we don’t “bauen” applications in German, this is a bad translation of “building”. Just write something like: Viele weitverbreitete Linux-Distrubitionen, u.a. ...., enthalten bereits seit längerem LibreOffice. And: 18. Wozu dienen dann die Eingaben unter Extras -> Optionen... -> LibreOffice -> Benutzerdaten? Please replace the ugly typewriter-like pseudo-arrows ‘->’ by real Unicode → arrows which today every browser should be able to display; or, if you are hesitating to use Unicode arrows, just use the plain '>' symbol without the '-'. The same is true for all the other instances of '->' on the page.
We should start to rewrite the FAQs in the Wiki. A good example: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/FR/FAQ/Generale
(In reply to comment #3) > We should start to rewrite the FAQs in the Wiki. > A good example: > http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/FR/FAQ/Generale A good idea. However, how to begin? Should we just copy the existing (German) text to a new wiki page (e.h. /DE/FAQ), oder can we start with translation some other FAQ — the French example is good, but I don’t know if we have enough volunteers who read French … And, who is “We”? ;-) Can you find some volunteers in the German UI translation community, or on the German users list? To begin with myself: I offer to check and proof read the new FAQ texts before/after they go public (not only looking at the contents, but also with regard to grammar, orthography, style and understandability -- I have experience as professional proof reader for German scientific text, so I hope this will be a good help), but I can not do the translation/re-writing job ... or only a little part of it.
