I'm running Windows Vista with all updates. I don't know what happened to Libre Office because it was working OK just a few days ago. I have removed and re-installed the program and still no go. The program begins to load and then quits. This is info from Event Viewer. Faulting application soffice.bin, version 3.5.6.2, time stamp 0x5021be3b, faulting module MSVCR90.dll, version 9.0.30729.6161, time stamp 0x4dace5b9, exception code 0xc0000417, fault offset 0x0002e9f4, process id 0x11ec, application start time 0x01cd9b7d5e9a7310.
Did you upgrade Java recently? Could you try again after having rename your LO directory profile? (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
Thank you! Resetting the User folder did the trick. I'll track down the bug at a later date. Again "thank you". ________________________________ From: "bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org" <bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org> To: fb_capt_sacto@yahoo.com Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 11:17 AM Subject: [Bug 55340] Libre Office will not open even after reinstalling Julien Nabet changed bug 55340 What Removed Added Status UNCONFIRMED NEEDINFO CC serval2412@yahoo.fr Ever confirmed 1 Comment # 1 on bug 55340 from Julien Nabet Did you upgrade Java recently? Great for you :-) Did you keep your old LO directory profile? If yes, could you zip it and attach to the bugtracker? Finally, had you upgraded your Java version recently?
OK, we have a workaround. There are many users without this problem, so it must be a bit special => can't block the release => lowering the severity a bit. Please, attach the old problematic user configuration. Also, please answer the question about java. It will help us to fix it and avoid such a problem in the future.
Yes I did delete Java and reinstall it. Then, after renaming the User file I was able to open LO. I have not had any problems since. I am not sure what file you want me to send to you. I tried to attach my "old user" file but it won't attach. Maybe too big? ________________________________ From: CaptSacto <fb_capt_sacto@yahoo.com> To: "bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org" <bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org> Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 2:47 PM Subject: Re: [Bug 55340] Libre Office will not open even after reinstalling Thank you! Great it works. About profile, I thought about zipping ~/.config/libreoffice and upload it there: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla-Attachments Would it be possible? Then this bug could be a blocker for https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43489
What file is it exactly? I'm not sure and is it just one file or the entire "user" folder that you need? ________________________________ From: "bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org" <bugzilla-daemon@freedesktop.org> To: fb_capt_sacto@yahoo.com Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 1:32 PM Subject: [Bug 55340] Libre Office will not open even after reinstalling Comment # 7 on bug 55340 from Julien Nabet Great it works. I made a mistake when I said ~/.config/libreoffice since you're on Windows. Anyway "LO directory profile" means a "directory" not a file. So could you zip (with Winzip, 7zip, Winrar) the directory libreoffice you had renamed. I expect a file with "zip" extension containing a directory which, itself contains several directories, etc and files obviously. Is it more clear now?
