Description Patrick Ohly 2012-10-12 14:37:42 UTC
The unified address book is implemented by libfolks and the libfolks-eds backend:
https://live.gnome.org/Folks

This meta-issue tracks open issues in folks.

Of these open issues, https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=685401 "linking by email" is relevant for performance and needs to be worked on.

That was already implemented last year.

Apparently folks duplicates all images in its own cache (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=697695), even if they are already local. Need to check and disable this in folks.

It would be good to try out direct-read-access to EDS in the folks EDS backend. Currently blocked by not having asynchronous methods for DRA and missing Vala bindings.
