Created attachment 68634 [details] der-spiegel-krieg-der-geschwister.pdf Original bug report to Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/1063618 I have opened the attached PDF file from the German magazine "Der Spiegel" with evince. When printing it, the main text is messed up. To investigate further I have selected "Print to a file" in evince's print dialog, selected PDF as output format and attached the result. This file shows the same messed fonts when displaying it with gs, evince, okular, Adobe Reader, and also when printing it unfiltered on a native PDF printer (HP LaserJet P3005, HP Color LaserJet CM3530 MFP). evince's own print preview does not reveal the problem.

I can reproduced the problem with 1.12.2 and 1.12.4. But with master the bug is fixed. These three patches are the fix: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cairo/commit/?id=cffbdf50ce0117d62d6e157369c60e4a8572fd21 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cairo/commit/?id=599e78ea2ee146c74fc7ffcee32a055dabbefdda http://cgit.freedesktop.org/cairo/commit/?id=0d5f63755e7ceb1bb5678fcf1f4661f3435470fb
Thank you very much. I will apply the patches to the Poppler which comes with Ubuntu Quantal.
