After opening an existing database file, I cannot select most of the menu items. Especially, it would be useful to open the macro editor via Tools > Macros > Organize Macros > LibreOffice Basic. At the moment, I have to open any form (in edit mode or design mode) before I can choose the macro editor. Perhaps, this problem is related to the access to the database itself: My data are stored in a MySQL database connected via JDBC. The password question doesn't occur while opening the database file, but after choosing any item.
What do you mean with "existing database file"? When I open a *.odb file with LO, I can choose Tools → Macros → Organize Macros → LO Basic ... and there are all the macros I have edited for a form or the whole Database. I have not to open any form before. That was sometimes ago, not with LO, but with elder OOo-Base-Versions. There the Macros were saved in the forms, not in the *.odb-file directly. Tested the same with MySQL/JDBC - no difference. The macros could be edited. Could this be a special Windows-problem? My System: OpenSuSE 11.4, 32 bit, LO in different versions.
> What do you mean with "existing database file"? LibO Start Window > Select Database > Welcome to the LibreOffice Database Wizard > Open an existing file > recently used Fibu-Daten.odb > Finish. In the following Base window titled "Fibu-Daten.odb - LibreOffice Base" the menu item Tools > Macros is enabled but all items of the next menu level are gray and disabled. > Could this be a special Windows-problem? It's not a bug: Renaming my user folder fixes this problem. Jürgen
subsequent to last rash of updates I discovered unable to edit, run, design reports without crashing LOBase. Today I have discovered also that I no longer can create macros in the dialog editor. It will take me to the standard block for the database but when I select edit to open the screen to paste the recommended Access2Base code into I only get a small blank partially gret square reminiscent of a frozem prompt window of sorts and freezes without allowing me to enter and save the needed macro.
