For legal reasons I will just link to the pdf document without mentioning a password: http://www6.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de:8205/ls-riesenhuber/lehrveranstaltungen/BGBII.html Direct link. http://www6.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de:8205/imperia/md/content/riesenhuber/veranstaltungen/01_sat_im_bgb.pdf When trying to open the document with the newest evince/poppler combination I get the error message: thomas@pluto ~ $ evince 01\ SAT\ im\ BGB.pdf Syntax Error: Invalid encryption key length Command Line Error: Incorrect password And even after entering the password I get the same message again.
Just to be precise I tested it with following combinations: poppler 20.3 and evince 3.4 and poppler git 20121020 rev and evince 3.4
If we don't have the password how do you expect us to fix the problem?
I thought you can reproduce the problem and maybe fix it by just trying to open the file as well or is it impossible to see encryption details without actually encrypting it?I'm sorry I'm not sure I can give you the password.
An encrypted file can't be opened without the password, that's the point. Without the password we can not check if we have fixed the bug or not, so i'm closing the bug since there is no way we can fix it. Sorry about that but we don't do impossibles.
The password is Medicus
Wait, are you complaining of the error message only? Because the file is opened just fine here
No Im unable Tod open the document.I used the standard archlinux package and compiled previously mentioned gibt Revision by Hand.It didn't work for me
Confusing, it works just fine here, are you on 64 or 32 bits?
I'm working on a 64bit system
I can open it in Fedora 17 64 bits both using distributed versions (evince 3.4 and poppler 0.18) and using compiled versions from git master. I do get a different error on console though. Syntax Error (95): Illegal character '}' and an invalid password message, which is there because poppler always tries to open the file with the empty password first.
Thomas did you ever get a new poppler version? Is this fixed?
