Description sergio.callegari 2012-10-29 13:20:20 UTC
On a DELL E6500, just updated to kubuntu quantal.

Running mesa devel git (commit 8eb2b33... - built 121026)
Running xorg-video-intel 2.20.9 (from ubuntu) with sna.

and kde 4.9.2

Asking kde to log out should fade the display and make the logout dialog appear. During this action, kwin crashes. The xsession-errors file reports

kwin: brw?fs?reg?allocate.cpp:415: bool fs:visitor::assign_regs(): Assertion `this->virtual_grf_sizes[i] >=1 && this->virtual_grf_sizes[i]<=4 && "Register allocation relies on split_virtual_grfs()"' failed

right before the crash.

This does not happen on a standard kubuntu with nvidia graphics and did not use to happen with ubuntu precise, with a slightly different combination of items in the graphics stack (older xorg infrastructure, just slightly older mesa, newer xorg-video-intel)

Are you able to reproduce without SNA?
