In the gnome-bugdatabase ( http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327119 ), I expressed the idea to make the print preview editable. [...Many times, e.g. when you print a webpage or a pdf, my print would be better (or cheaper, saving me some ink) if I could remove or add something. E.g. add note when printing a webpage, or remove a big picture because I only want the text, etc...] I got an answer that it's a nice idea, but with the next-generation rendering in Cairo, it would not be possible to do something like that. I think that's a pity, so I post the suggestion here. Maybe it would be hard to do, but it would certainly be something very nice to have.
This is not relevant to cairo. Users of cairo can do whatever they want, like supporting editable print preview, just that it's extremely hard and application dependent. Nothing that can be solved generally.
