Description Grzegorz Kulewski 2006-01-20 10:36:55 UTC
hi,

I am using vesafb-tng for console and nv driver for X. I have Samsung SyncMaster
204Ts 1600x1200 LCD connected with DSUB. It looks like both fb and nv are using
the same model number (from LCD POV) and I now have to choose between:
1. screen moved about 1cm to the right in X (so about 1cm is invisible) and good
in console,
2. screen moved about 1cm to the left on console and good in X,
depending if I will use LCD Auto tuning under console or under X.

It works perfectly with nvidia binary driver (same config, only driver nvidia
changed to driver nv) and with everything except nv.

I don't know if I am clear enough. Any chance to get this fixed? Do you need
more info?

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

I have this same problem (I think it's the same). I have an NVidia GeForce4 MX400 SE video card and an LG 566LM LCD monitor. Whenever I use the nv driver I have to adjust the monitor to get it centered. Then when I boot into Windows or use the binary nvidia driver I have to adjust it back.

xf86-video-nv has been officially unmaintained for a bit now, and we are closing all -nv bugs. If your problem was not addressed, and -nv is still broken, please try xf86-video-nouveau. Thank you.
