This was present in xf86 3.3.6 and seems to be kinda present in the ramdac
module, but has never worked in post-4.0 xfree86 DDX.  I do in fact have such a
card, and it's a remarkably uninttuitive failure mode too.

Do we care about fixing this?  If so, ajax, do you still have the hardware?  
Did something get dropped from XFree86 when bringing over this driver way back 
when?

I do still have the hardware, but I'm probably the only one, I'd be lying if I said I was going to work on it any time soon.
