Dmesg: [11577.928164] [drm:intel_dp_set_link_train] *ERROR* Timed out waiting for DP idle patterns [11577.928167] [drm:i915_write32] *ERROR* Unknown unclaimed register before writing to 64040 Expected output: it enter to screensaver and turn off backlight, then press any key to resume system, it should shows GDM. In theory, Haswell is now in much better working order.
Can you please test whether disabling the ACPI backlight ala https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/2697681/ fixes the issue?
