Under HP-UX dinamic libraries have .sl as postfix, Fontconfig compiles the
libraries with .so and the linker cant find them.

After symlinking lo the correct name, all worked  as expected.

Fontconfig 2.1.93 uses automake and libtool which should support HPUX correctly.
Please reopen if that version doesn't work.
