Description Paul Weiss 2013-01-14 17:21:05 UTC
Style category Applied Styles is not working correctly in documents converted from MSO Word. It is showing me many more styles than those in use in the current document.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a document in LO Writer that has no header or footer.
2. Ctrl+H (to open Find & Replace window) -> More Options -> Search for Styles. Search for Footer, then Header styles. Should get "Search key not found", confirming these styles are not in use in the document. Close F&R dialog.
3. F11 (to open Styles & Formatting window) -> in the style category box, select Applied Styles.
4. The Footer and Header styles appear in the list.

Other styles it is showing me that are not in the current document: Heading, Text body.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 and LibreOffice 4.0.1.1 rc. Tested using several test .doc and .docx I have downloaded for testing purposes... When I open the Applied 'Styles and Formattings', I don't see any other styles then the ones that are applied.

Is it possible this is fixed in LibreOffice 4.0?
@Paul: can you retest this?

If not, can you please attach a test-file to this bug report? If you still can reproduce using LibreOffice 4.0 and I can't reproduce using Linux Mint, I think this is a Windows-only bug.

Kind regards,
Joren

I can't update to 4.0 because of some other regressions. Can I install 4.0 for testing without uninstalling 3.6.4.3 for my daily work?

I tried using the LibreOffice Server Installation GUI extension. It gave me this error message when I told it to install LO 4.0.0.3:

Internal Error 2203. [path]\LibreOffice_4.0.0_Win_x86.msi, -2147287035

Hi Paul,

Looks like this might be a permissions error:

"You have to open the command prompt as administrator, otherwise you get the error 2203. Might not be [necessary] on all win7 installation[s]."
