Hello guys, Quick bug ticket to suggest one thing. How about replacing the dotted zero with a slashed one ? In my opinion, it looks much better ! Thanks for your feedback. Regards, Kip
Fontconfig is getting support for rules which select based on and/or set the otf features. Were we to add an unencoded zeroslash and a style set feature for it, users soon could choose that at the fontconfig level as their preferred version. Or at the application level for publishing documents.
Well, I really hope you will add a slashed zero character. I wouldn't know how to do it, otherwise I'd already have done it. Thanks
Just to be clear, my point is that we can add a slashed zero w/o upsetting those who prefer the current dotted zero, by making the slashed an option. Several font familes have a 'zero' GSUB which replaces the normal zero by a slashed zero. DejavSansMono could do that to replace the dotted zero with a slashed zero and, given that such substitutions soon will be easy to use with most modern X11 software, it should be enough for those who prefer a slash.
