Created attachment 74036 [details] dmesg's output The problem appeared when I upgraded to the 3.7 kernel. I have to specify 'nouveau.noaccel=1' otherwise X is not reached.

I'd be willing to, but: - The screen is garbled with and without acceleration. - When acceleration is disabled, the boot process interrupts: I can't read anything though and I don't know how to get debug informations under those circumstances...
If you compile nouveau as a module, you will probably be able to get it from /var/log.
Are there instructions on how to compile it as a module? What should I look for in `/var/log`?
Tried again with Linux 3.8.3: I could boot without `nomodeset` but the pointer icon, in X, was cropped. On the next reboot the screen was garbled again.
Does this still happen with the latest kernel (3.10 or 3.11-rc6)?

Please supply a kernel log for a recent kernel, without nomodeset or noaccel (i.e. a boot that exhibits the issue). Potentially relevant -- also make sure you have a recent DDX (xf86-video-nouveau).

No new info provided for over one year, closing as invalid concerning the missing feedback. -> Feel free to reopen if this is still a problem!
