dmesg

These 3 lines are new at a ThinkPAd w/ integrated intel graphic - compared to current 3.8.2 kernel :
[ 13.086383] [drm] Wrong MCH_SSKPD value: 0x16040307
[ 13.086385] [drm] This can cause pipe underruns and display issues.
[ 13.086386] [drm] Please upgrade your BIOS to fix this.

but I'm unsure whether I shall now force Lenovo for a new BIOS (I do have the latest BIOS installed) or what else happens here - dmesg with dr.debug=0xe is attached

Are you having display issues? If not, this isn't the droid you're looking for.

It's a set of magic that needs to be setup by the BIOS for the hw to work in some corner-cases. It's outside of our control thanks to the design of our hw.
