Description Jürg Billeter 2006-03-11 07:30:04 UTC
Viewing the linked PDF document with evince (or pdftotext) only displays the
text of the header, the main part of the document remains empty. Fails with
poppler 0.5.1 and CVS HEAD, works fine with pdftotext from xpdf 3.01 and Adobe
Reader 7. The PDF file has been generated by AFPL Ghostscript 8.0 on Windows
(PDF-1.3).

That's probably because you don't have fontconfig correctly confiogured and we
are not able to see which font use for the non embedded fonts the document has,
can you please run qt4/tests/poppler-fonts on that pdf and tellme what do you
get on the font file column?
Comment 2 Jürg Billeter 2006-03-12 04:18:23 UTC
I doubt that it's a fontconfig problem as I assume that pdftotext doesn't use
fontconfig, does it? I don't have qt4 currently installed but can build it if it
would help.
Comment 3 Albert Astals Cid 2006-03-12 04:47:48 UTC
hmm, right the fontconfig thing does not seems to explain the pdftotext
(although i do not completely discard it) but if you could just build the test
to discard the problem it would be nice.

I can't reproduce this bug with poppler 0.5.4 anymore, it seems to work fine
with both, pdftotext and evince.
