Writer document that has the crash report cut and pasted into it.

Problem description:

Typing in English in a document using Writer, the program crashes unexpectedly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open document and start typing.

Current behavior:
Libre office freezes, shows spinning rainbow ball and then closes. Crash report appears in a few moments. Document opens fine, but of course, any data that was typed without being save is lost.

Expected behavior:
No crashing.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.0.0.3 release

Sometimes as I'm typing quickly I will see characters that are possibly Japanese or Chinese. Which is weird, as I'm typing in English.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting. Is this bug still reproducible?

If so:
1) Can you upgrade to version 4.0.2.2 (http://www.libreoffice.org/download)?

If you still can reproduce this behavior after upgrading to 4.0.2.2, is it possible for you to reset your user profile by following this guide: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resetting_the_user_profile ?

Kind regards and thanks for your feedback,
Joren

PS: feel free to mark this bug back to UNCONFIRMED once you tested above and gave us feedback :-).

I *think* this bug _maybe_ have some relations with Bug 46609 (Annoying delay when you start EDITING (e.g. typing) after opening/creating a file)

@Rainer: I can't open the attached URL. I think that's a personalized filter, or something like that. " The search named MacWriterCrash does not exist. "

Kind regards,
Joren

Writer closes unexpectedly with me too. After I am typing for a while in portuguese, it closes and I loose unsaved data. I am using LibreOffice 4.0.3 on both Ubuntu Raring 64bits and precise 32bits and it happened in both.

Nonetheless it's difficult to reproduce because it not happen all the time.

This is a Mac OSX-only bug, but if you find a pattern in the crashes (step by step, so you can reproduce it most of the time), then a backtrace (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_a_backtrace_on_Linux) will of great help + report that in a new bug report.

Kind regards,
Joren
