Can you test the attached patch and send the X log ? It adds some debug that will help understand the issue you're having.

Tried another monitor with 1920x1080
applied the patch to latest git and compiled and installed the driver
the openchrome drive seems to be loading fine but when entering desktop i have gallium 0.4 indirect rendering with vmware driver it seems:/

I'm not sure to understand your previous comment. Does openchrome now starts fine or not ? Can you please post the X log ? There is currently no opensource 3D driver for the VIA chipsets, neither classic Mesa nor Gallium 3D.

It dosent work atm it seems
I loads Openchrome, but like you can see in the latest xorg.log it then unloads it and use modesetting instead?

I will try to update it later with the latest git and a fresh copy of ubuntu13.04 later in this week.

grep openchrome

After having some time to investigate i realised that the openchrome driver were working . 


The only thing that dident work was when i was using it on the 1680x1050  packard bell monitor.
This was probly due to some edid troubles and could probly been fixed by a modeline for that monitor:)




So you can safely close this bug now
