A fix for the bug reported in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5898
needs to be integrated into the 6.9.x branch.

The fix used in modular would need to be adapted to either always use /dev/null
or add a HasMktempCommand definition to the Imake configs for the various
platforms and key off that.

Clearly, 6.9.x branch fixes are not going to happen at this point.
