Thanks for the report Please don't use LibreOffice in production for now with --enable-mergelibs used in the compilation , it is experimental. Not sure it is linked to your crashes, but it could be a reason. i got this exact behaviour on a production (k)ubuntu box. The package installed is libreoffice 4.0.2-0ubuntu1 and dmesg shows [34189.817630] traps: soffice.bin[2260] general protection ip:7f5e92d773bd sp:7fffd87bd0f0 error:0 in libmergedlo.so[7f5e92110000+2e1a000] The same kind of crash happens very often on this user's box. Several times a day, usually after ~1h of use. The automatic backup is usually of no help which makes the thing worse :-( I can't get a backtrace on this user laptop.
