Thanks for the report

Please don't use LibreOffice in production for now with --enable-mergelibs used in the compilation , it is experimental. Not sure it is linked to your crashes, but it could be a reason.

For your bug we need the build options used and a stacktrace of the crash, if you can follow this procedure : https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_a_backtrace_on_Linux

Thanks

i got this exact behaviour on a production (k)ubuntu box. The package installed is libreoffice 4.0.2-0ubuntu1 and dmesg shows

[34189.817630] traps: soffice.bin[2260] general protection ip:7f5e92d773bd sp:7fffd87bd0f0 error:0 in libmergedlo.so[7f5e92110000+2e1a000]

The same kind of crash happens very often on this user's box. Several times a day, usually after ~1h of use. The automatic backup is usually of no help which makes the thing worse :-(

I can't get a backtrace on this user laptop.

I can also confirms this bug on another box, which runs sabayon (gentoo-derivative) :
* libreoffice 4.0.2.2
* updated amd64 sabayon (as of today)

Linux Tosca 3.7.0-sabayon #1 SMP Wed Jan 23 20:51:11 UTC 2013 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3227U CPU @ 1.90GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

I have the exact same problem. Would be happy to provide additional info to help troubleshooting, if you can give me an idea about what to do. The above page does not contain anything about how to get a stacktrace, whatever that is...
