Gentoo BR: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127442 When I use 'X -config xorg.conf.new' the entire machine locks up... ssh/nfs/everything locks up... The system reboots itself (usually) and fsck the HDs... not nice... I'm open to suggestions on how to help... To recap: With kernel 2.6.16, the suncg6 does not work with either xorg-x11 6.8.x nor 7.0.x. With kernel 2.4.32-sparc, suncg6 works with both versions of xorg. I don't know if this is an xorg or kernel issue... I'm currently running xorg-x11 7.0.0 with kernel 2.4.32.
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

If it breaks because of the kernel, then yes it is a kernel issue. Closing this as NOTOURBUG since it looks like a kernel problem.
