Document with Symbols

Attached are two documents. The first document (libreDocumentWithSymbols.OTT) contains symbols for bullets with text following (not bullet items). The second document (libreDocumentWithBullets.OTT), is the same document with the Bullet Symbol replaced with a bullet item.

With the first document, there are a couple of issues. With libreOffice already open, going through Windows Explorer and opening the document, the "Bullet" symbol is replaced with a "Club" symbol and if we try to Export as PDF with the Embed Standard Fonts option unchecked, the document is exported appropriately, although the wrong symbol is used.

Without libreOffice already open, going through Windows Explorer and opening the document, the "Bullet" symbol is replaced with unprintable characters (2 blank squares). If we try to Export as PDF with the Embed Standard Fonts option unchecked, libreOffice crashes and attempts recovery.

For this second scenario, if the "Bullet" symbol is replaced by an actual bullet item (as in document #2), Export as PDF works without incident and shows correctly.

The above has been replicated under Windows Vista and Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) using LibreOffice 3.6.3 and LibreOffice 4.0.2.

Changing version to 3.6.3 as version is the earliest version that the problem can be seen.
