ModemManager is half way between gnome and fd.o infrastructures: git repo is in fd.o, while re-using NetworkManager's bugzilla and mailing list in gnome infrastructure. We would like to avoid this, and keep everything under fd.o, and that would mean creating: * bugzilla: product 'ModemManager' (can we have an alias for the default asignee, so that more than one person gets the new bug emails?) * mailing list: ModemManager-devel (admins: aleksander@lanedo.com, dcbw@redhat.com) * disk space for releases in annarchy (software/ModemManager) (allowed to users 'aleksm' and 'dcbw') See also https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=699402 I would take the work of moving all current MM bugs reported from one bugzilla to the other.
Yep, +1 from me; we've always used the "org.freedesktop" namespace for ModemManager because we knew one day we'd try to move it over to fdo. That day has come.
Disk space and mailing list is now set up. For bugzilla, I need one or more components and a long description for the product, and yes, you can have an alias you can watch. Please set it back from NEEDINFO when you provide this info, and apologies for the delay in getting this set up.

And for components: "general" "plugins" "libmm-glib" "mmcli" > Please set it back from NEEDINFO when you provide this info, and apologies > for the delay in getting this set up. Np, thanks for doing this :)
> For bugzilla, I need one or more components and a long description for the > product, and yes, you can have an alias you can watch. > Oops forgot the alias; how about "modemmanager-devs@something" or the like? not sure if there is already a policy regarding these.
Tollef, do you need any additional information for the bugzilla setup?
Hello, where is the place to submit ModemManager bugs? ModemManager does not exist in the list of fdo products.
(In reply to comment #6) > Hello, where is the place to submit ModemManager bugs? ModemManager does not > exist in the list of fdo products. We'll be having a bugzilla component in freedesktop at some point, just follow this bugreport status changes. Meanwhile, you can use NetworkManager's bugzilla, with component "ModemManager": https://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=NetworkManager
Bump bump :) Is there any chance we can get the bugzilla product for ModemManager? It's the only thing missing in this bugreport...
(In reply to comment #8) > Is there any chance we can get the bugzilla product for ModemManager? It's > the only thing missing in this bugreport... That's something fairly easy for me to do. I just went to do it, but I don't see anywhere in the bug report the actual email address I should put in as the default assignee. I also think that bugzilla wants a short description for each component as well. -Carl

Components: "general: the ModemManager core codebase" "plugins: the vendor-specific plugins" "libmm-glib: the client-side library to access the ModemManager DBus interface" "mmcli: the ModemManager command line tool" As for the default asignee, I was hoping you guys could create an alias (e.g. ModemManager-devs@whatever) and make it forward emails to both aleksander@aleksander.es and dcbw@redhat.com.

Thanks. That's the information I didn't have before. I don't happen to know anything about how email aliases might work on freedesktop.org, (from neither a technical nor a policy point-of-view). So I'll defer to some of the "real" admins for that. Once that's in place, I can do the bugzilla stuff. Or if you'd prefer that to happen first, just tell me what email addresses to put in as default owners for each component, and I can create them now, (and update them in the future when the alias is created). -Carl
Sorry for the delay in getting all this set up. I've created a fake modemmanager@invalid.freedesktop.org user you can watch to get bugmail, apart from that, it should all be ready now.
