Since poppler already supports embedded files, it should also support links to
those files (Embedded Go-To Actions on page 617 of the PDF1.6 spec)
I was looking at the bug reports in order to determine if there was some way I
could contribute to this project.
I came upon this request for GoToE actions and after skimming through the
poppler headers I didn't find a LinkAction definition of kind actionGoToE. I was
interested whether this kind of action is already implemented or there was some
real problem that prevented the introduction of such an action. I'd be glad to
know if it's the kind of work that a newbie like me can carry out.
Thank you for attention.
Hi Lubomir, you can try working on this if you want, i don't think there is
any radical problem that makes impossible to have that kind of links in
I was wondering if I simply missed a duplicate or if there really wasn't any progress on the GoToE link support since 2006?
There hasn't been any progress.
BTW this bug really misses an example file. Setting it to needs info

Example of PDF file subject to GoToE actions

here is such an example file, that is the example to be found in the documentation of the `hypgotoe` LaTeX's package (http://ctan.org/pkg/hypgotoe). This file behaves as expected with Acrobat Reader (on Linux).
Thanks in anticipation.
