To stop violating the principle of least surprise, rename TEST_PYTHON to PYTHON. I don't see any reason why telepathy-idle should be special and having just PYTHON makes it easier for various build systems (at least OpenBSD ports) to adjust the path to the versioned interpreter.

(In reply to comment #0) > To stop violating the principle of least surprise, rename TEST_PYTHON to > PYTHON. It's different because the code-generation tools don't (or at least didn't) require as modern a Python as the tests. Having said that, it seems reasonable not to support them being different (or older than 2.7, for that matter) any more.
This is going to conflict with some patches for Automake 1.13 compatibility which I'd prefer to land first.
Allright, thanks in advance for committing this once your automake patches have landed :-)
Ping? :)
Many bugs have a priority. This is not one of them :-) When I next get a chance to spend any time on Telepathy, I'll drop TEST_PYTHON from all the projects; until then, I'd rather not change any of them.
