Created attachment 81572 [details] This is the odt version - what the doc file looked like before reopening. In writer, open a .doc or .docx document (whether created in LibO or Microsoft Office) and insert a comment. Save, close and reopen the document. Writer has added a line break immediately after the comment. This problem recurs whenever closing & opening the document, so it accumulates line breaks.

Setting status to NEW, platform to ALL, and version to 4.0.3.3 release. I have tested this under Crunchbang 11 running TDF/LO v4.0.3.3 (Build ID: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539) using the files provided and with newly created files. The second text:span element in the first text:p element (line1) appears to be transformed into a separate (empty) line, when saving to the DOC file format. This does not occur if saving to the DOCX format. The related AskLO thread is: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/19600/writer-adds-line-breaks-after-comment-in-doc-file/
There is a twist: The bug I reported above only occurs if comments are placed at the end of a line/paragraph. Comments in the middle of a paragraph do not force a line break upon closing/reloading.
