Forwarded from: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/tango-icon-theme/+bug/38233 See screenshot. Some evo icons show up in bright orange. The forward icon should be blue (like reply to) and the "important" should probably be red. I'm not sure what makes a color from the tango palette not match the tango style?
Asked the reporter.
I am tempted to say this is NOTABUG. It's an opinion of one user that these icons should be the same color as other icons. The fact is that the forward/reply icons should in fact be different colors, and are different in a stock upstream install (using the icons from gnome-icon-theme). The fact that the important icon is not red is again a minor thing. Important mails are marked important, and are shown to be important in multiple ways. I don't think it's worth arguing over, or changing. Themes are themes for a reason. They are not meant to all be the same. The icons match the tango style just fine.
The reporter says: "Well, the forward icon doesn't match any of the other evo icons, so it looks a bit strange. As for the `important' icon, red seems to be the traditional color for something important/needing attention/etc. Evolution uses red when you do mark something as important. Ideally, the message should be consistant." Screenshot: http://librarian.launchpad.net/2128385/Screenshot-2.png
Hrm, I never realized that the evo colors were different. The tango colors seem to be much more attention grabbing (they are brighter, especially the orange). For the important...it just looks a strange again. Not as much of anissue (imho) as the other one.
I closed the Ubuntu bug, nobody really seemed to convinced of inherent bugginess.
Closing too.
