Some time ago my Xgl-server did not start anymore. By i hunch I commented away InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" from my serverlayout and that "fixed" it in a temporary way becouse xorg/xgl automatically detects and use the "mouse" driver for it. I had before that evdev for both my mouse and my keyboard (and still have evdev setup for my keyboard). I uncommented and ran Xgl as command diretly and alone from console and that did crash. Just X however (which starts plain xorg-server) starts without problems. The only diffrence in the Xorg.log is that Xgl gives the following: + xkb_types { include "%" }; + xkb_compatibility { include "%" }; + xkb_symbols { include "%" }; + xkb_geometry { include "%" }; +The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports: +> Error: Missing KeyNames section in a Keymap file +> Description of Keymap not compiled +Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server +(EE) Error loading keymap /usr/share/X11/xkb/compiled/server-93.xkm Decpite what it says it seems like that error from xbkcomp becomes fatal. My system is a gentoo-box with latest (in portage masked) xorg-server-7.0.99.901 and my Xgl is a cvs-snapshot taken from the 20060418.

Sorry, marked a bug as a duplicate of this, but it is not. However, I believe these two bugs are related to the same problem.
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
The Xgl server is no longer maintained.
Closing as WONTFIX. Not maintained anymore. Sorry we didn't reply to this report earlier.
