Created attachment 82305 [details] Xorg log file I downloaded et-2.60 and gave it a test run on IVB - it plays smooth but textures are missing on the landscape, buildings (anything static). Plants, characters, decals all render properly. The missing textures result in a "black" landscape all around you.

Disabling "Compress Textures: Yes" fixes the issue.
Seems this could be just closed "workaround exists" ... maybe this is interesting to see why texture compressing fails - the game recognizes s3tc present and attempts to use it?
I wonder if the game is being too smart for its own good. We don't advertise the texture compression extension that it looks for (GL_EXT_texture_compression_s3tc), but we do support pre-compressed S3TC textures (via other extensions). There are two things that could go wrong. 1. Selecting "Compress Textures: Yes" causes it to send the driver uncompressed texture expecting it to compress them, then lolz happen. 2. Selecting "Compress Textures: Yes" causes it to load pre-compressed S3TC textures from disk, but missing GL_EXT_texture_compression_s3tc extension causes it to not give the textures to the driver. Does adding 'force_s3tc_enable=true' to the environment fix the issue? If so, we may want to add a driconf work-around.
Ian, we already have s3tc force enabled through drirc - otherwise most of the Valve titles won't work :^)

Hello, Here is a follow-up with two related bug reports from Debian and Fedora. Both users run into the same issue while playing Warzone2100 or Berusky2. The commit from Erik Anholt hasn't reached Debian yet, so I can't confirm that it solves the issue.
The user confirmed to me that upgrading to version 9.2.1 of libgl1-mesa-dri in Debian experimental solved the issue, so I assume that commit bdf3f50e9a85e4c063b46ceaf23bceb07b06b82e fixes the bug.
