https://bugs.freedesktop.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status (linked from the "help" link for the "Status" dropdown) yields a page of essentially useless info, since it explains semantics only for tags CONFIRMED, UNCONFIRMED, and INPROGRESS, none of which are actually used on this site. Would be nice to have explanations for semantics of tags actually in use here, i.e. NEW, ASSIGNED, RESOLVED, and NEEDINFO. E.g. NEW - bug has been reported but no resolution has been found yet. ASSIGNED - a developer is working on fixing the bug. NEEDINFO - additional information is required from the original reported or the person mentioned in the comment. RESOLVED - bug has been closed, either fixed or found to be unfixable, to be not a bug, etc.
The help information comes from upstream bugzilla and is not something we really provide in any shape or form. Unless somebody volunteers to fix this and maintain it forwards, we are unlikely to ever fix this, so closing this as not our bug.
