I am running an updated FC5 installation with the KDE desktop with 2 gfx cards. One PCI-E (Geforce 6600 GT) and a pci (Radeon 7000/VE) card. What model are the monitors?
Looks like it could be a problem reading the BIOS ROM of the PCI card ... Which is your primary display at boot ? I suspect the server might be trying to use the nvidia ROM for the radeon driver...
you might want to try a newer X server with airlied's ROM fixes using sysfs.
(In reply to comment #3) > What model are the monitors? I've tried different monitors and setups. This test was done with a Compaq TFT8030 on the primary graphics card (6600GT) and a Compaq MV720 on the pci card.

How can I prevent it from using the wrong bios ? Why does the driver fail to read the radeon card bios ?
(In reply to comment #5) > you might want to try a newer X server with airlied's ROM fixes using sysfs. I am not very fluent in compiling and setting up Xwindows. Right now i use a clean fedora core 5 install updated to the latest rpms. Where can I get this newer X server ? Are there any instructions on how to install it ?
Hi Geir. Have you upgraded to Fedora Core 6? Report if this problem is fixed there, as naturally Core 6 has a newer X.org.
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
Are you still have problems with xserver 1.3 or 1.4 and a recent ati driver?
