I'm seeing rendering issues in DOTA2 - the native linux client through steam (not wine): Hd4000, all detail sliders down, 1280x768 Specifically, all trees are not rendered or their textures missing entirely. Some player characters are transparent but I can see effects. Water is rendering correctly. Towers are missing textures too, but some other structures are fine.
Note that initially the game would just crash on me, like others have seen. It seems tuning down all the settings worked for me. I may just bump them back up again to see if it's a workaround, but I wanted to file a separate bug just for the rendering issues.
You're using 9.1? Have you tried master or the 9.2 branch? I believe this was already fixed at some point.
So the reason I filed this bug is that there was no previous bug open on dota2 with mesa 9.1 (actually, no specific rendering issue bug at all, just crash bugs). I've been struggling to get my system ready for testing mesa 9.2. This may take a few more days since time is limited for me for this, but I will report back in here once I retest.
The patch fixing this has been backported to Mesa 9.1.5. I'll close this issue. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 62647 ***
Vedran, bug #62647 is about running DOTA2 under wine. This bug is with the Native Linux client. Can you confirm that the fix in #62647 also fixes the native game client rendering bugs?
