Xorg.0.log file from the affected HP laptop

module "intel" is being loaded and unloaded twice, failing of course, on the second iteration. This doesn't cause any real problems, but does indicate a logic error 'somewhere'.

I have two laptops. Both running Kubuntu Linux 13.04, kernel 3.8.0-27-generic. One is a Toshiba Satellite P105-S6147 32-bit, the other a HP Pavilion g7-1070us 64-bit. The issue presents on the HP and not on the Toshiba.

It's just a race condition in Ubuntu's startup.
Comment 3 Chris Wilson 2013-09-20 11:01:19 UTC
Ok, there is nothing I can do here in the ddx or in the kernel. This appears to be entirely a ubuntu userspace issue.
